EOS Smooth Sphere Lip Balm in “Sweet Mint”

eos lip balm

This is a unique little egg-shaped lip balm in itself. I’ve seen this balm for years but was hesitant to try it because I already had great balms that worked miracles, but after hearing a co-worker rave about it, I had to go out and buy my own for about $2.99 at my local Target. Unfortunately, this was a total let down. I love the look and the sturdiness of it, but the product itself was not moisturizing at all. I bought it when I was sick and bed ridden expecting it to be super moisturizing for my parched lips, but it felt like it just sat on top of my lips and made them peel. I’m almost tempted to scoop out the balm from the egg and add more shea butter and other moisturizing ingredients to it so I can have what I thought it would be. It did taste good and it’s not as expensive as my staple lip balms. That said, I don’t think I will be purchasing it again unless they revamp the ingredient list. I honestly think it may have too much beeswax.

Have you tried the EOS lip balms? What’s your opinion on them?

Camille Rose Naturals

CRAlgae

I’ve heard so many good things about the Camille Rose Naturals line. While I was in New York I had to visit a local Target store to see what their ethnic hair section looked like. OMG! I was so overwhelmed. They carried every product that I use and then some! At first I couldn’t decide which product I wanted to get. I was torn between getting the Algae renew deep conditioner, the Curl Love Moisture Milk, or the Curl Maker. I’m so glad that I got this product. #1, the smell is awesome! It smells like warm hot chocolate, and the feel of it is so soft. As soon an I applied it to my hair, my hair felt like butter and it was baby soft. I’ve been on the hunt for deep conditioners because I’m going to get more highlights in my hair on August 23rd, so I wanted to be proactive in protecting my hair as much as possible before I get bleached. At first I was hesitant about buying this product because I thought it would be similar to the Shea Moisture hair mask which was a major disappointment  and did absolutely nothing for my hair. This product gets an  A+. I’ve included the product description and a link to the Camille Rose Naturals site.

Lush Hair Doctor

Hair-Doctor-Hair-Treatment

Lush cosmetics have definitely been a god send. Every product that I’ve tried by them thus far has worked exceptionally which is why after reading the product description and reviews of this product, I thought that I would fall in love. I’ve been looking for a good scalp exfoliating cleanser that wouldn’t sud, but would rid my hair of  the product build up, dandruff, and other irritations. I followed the directions and applied the product to my scalp and felt the cool tingle from the peppermint. I didn’t distribute the product to the rest of my hair, just because it was fairly thick and I just wanted to concentrate on the health of my scalp. After the first few uses, I think it helped balance my scalp, but it didn’t get rid of this rash that I have around the front of my hair line, which I was hoping it would.  Because of that and the fact that it doesn’t have a long shelf life and it needs to be refrigerated, I will not be purchasing this product again. This product feels like a cool chocolate mousse and must be refrigerated. It does not have a long shelf life and lasts for  less than two weeks which is unfortunate because I’m not even half way through mine and it expires tomorrow. I’m going to continue using it until the jar is empty so I can get my monies worth, and who knows, by then it may actually start working. Below is a description of the product taken from http://www.lushusa.com.

Lush Lip Scrub

lush lip scrubs, sugar lips, mint julip, sweet lips, bubblegum

Lush handmade cosmetics are the best thing since sliced bread. I have had the chance to use a wide variety of their products ranging from face and body scrubs, to hair treatments, and cuticle butters and everything that I’ve used is simply amazing. I will add more posts about their amazing line, but right now I’m focusing on these lip scrubs. I was torn between buying the mint julip and the bubblegum scrubs. I chose the mint julip because I am such a huge fan of peppermint, so naturally I couldn’t resist.

If you follow me then  you will know that I love exfoliants, so this isn’t the first lips scrub that I’ve tried and I will say it might be number one on my list thus far besides my own home made lip scrub. They use sugar instead of salt or walnut shells to slough off the dead skin. This product is so natural that you don’t need to rinse it off with water. You could lick all the sugar off your lips and be just fine! They use castor sugar  and peppermint oil, just enough to give you a tingle. You can order these products online by following the link I provided, or by visiting a Lush store.

Shea Moisture Coconut Hibiscus Body Wash

image

I’ve been on the hunt for a body wash. Something inexpensive, organic, good quality and something that I’ve never tried before. Enter “Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Body Wash.” I chose this product because I’ve noticed that there’s always only one left so that must mean its in high demand.

I’ve used this line of products before and absolutely love them so naturally I thought I would give this a try. I loved the scent and its quick lathering abilities. If you’ve ever tried any of the coconut hibiscus line then you can imagine how this body wash smells.

If you’re looking for an organic body wash that smells great, I suggest checking out Shea Moisture.
